Previous correspondence from John informed us that the lab results were back in respect to the purity of the Cocaine and the news isn't good. The cocaine was quite pure and came in at over 5Kgs. This pushes the likely jail term into the 9-10 year region.
Latest correspondence from John below - dated December 5, 2007:
[Dear Mrs Salter,
The transfer has arrived. Thanks very much.
We went to see Kim on Monday afternoon, because on Monday morning we received notification that she would have to give evidence before the investigating judge on Tuesday.
She gave her evidence yesterday and she gave it very convincingly.
Theoretically, there should not be any more declarations by her until her trial. We don't know the date of the trial, but it shouldn't be too far away. Having said that, could you please try to get Kim's friend in Beijing to go through her things and send relevant documents, such as work contracts, pay slips etc.
Thanks for contacting the band manager. I'll send an e-mail to him to see if he can send me the information, perhaps on letterhead and signed, regarding payments made to Kim.
I mentioned to Kim that there was a possibility her aunt would come over. She explained that normally there are visits only at the weekend. However, if it's someone who has come from overseas, then some concession can be made and that person can visit during the week. If it's to be a contact visit and not through a glass screen, then Kim has to advise the prison during the first 10 days of the month to cover the following month. In other words, if her aunt were planning to visit in January, then Kim would have to advise of that visit by the 10th December.
Kim's bail application will take place next Wednesday 12th. The chances of success are slim.
I'll keep you informed.
Regards
John Rochlin]
Rgds,
Scott
