[The long wait is over!!
Kim rang midnight Friday, a little emotional, with the unhappy news that she had received her sentencing of 9 years and 1 day. (The minimum sentence for this crime). I guess that she and we had started to believe that perhaps a miracle would happen and the judges would believe in her innocence. But, we must remember that these judges have probably become desensitized over time, listening to thousands of similar cases and they have not been fortunate to know Kim as we know her.
We were saddened.
Midnight last night, the phone rang again and it was our happy, resilient girl back again, fully accepting of her situation. After speaking with our Lawyer John today, we are relieved in the knowledge, that her record as a model prisoner, will mean that the term will be reduced somewhere down the track.
The last few weeks have been so difficult and now it comes as a relief to know what we are facing. We have been so proud of the way in which Kim has handled her incarceration to date and our thoughts will be with her as she faces new decisions and a move to another prison. As always, she will be seeking the positive opportunities the next phase in her life, has to offer.
We thank you so much for your support so far and suggest that you look to the Blog in the near future for details on the next chapter in the ( never dull) life of Kim Salter.

Hi everyone
I´m in Barcelona at the moment and have been spending some time with Kim. We have had 2 weekend visits and I have 2 contact visits over the coming days. She is doing well and is now focusing her energy on the future and doing her best to be a model prisoner so she can reduce her time as much as possible.
Keep up the letters and support! It´s really important to her, particularly at the moment, when she has had a lot to come to terms with. You can keep on writing to her at the address on the blog, although this will change in a month or two. In any case, Kim thinks that they would forward any letters on to her.
Let me know if there are any messages you would like me to pass on to her while I am here.

Kim wanted everyone to know that the situation is not quite as bleak as it might seem on the face of things.
In another 18 months or so (ie after she has served about 27 months altogether), she should be able to apply to spend weekend days outside the prison, as long as things continue as they have been and she is well-behaved. It seems to be a system where they give a little bit of freedom to people who prove themselves. And Kim is very determined to show that she can do this.
Also, when she shifts to the new prison, it will be easier for her to take up study and do more work and she won´t have to share a cell with so many people.
I had a contact visit with her today and it was so nice to spend time together.
already planning a trip to see miss kim in spain. i know this has been a big blow for all of us, and yet kim's amazing goddess spirit is strong, loving and peaceful, despite the impact.
:) big hugs to family, friends and of course, to the extraordinary heart of kim's.

Hi there Babrizio and everyone.
We believe that Kim will be at the same prison in January. It is even a possibility that she may not be moved at all.
Kim's Mum
Hello all,
Low times, but if anyone can deal with this hand, I know it's little miss Kimmy.
Kirsten, if you're still in Barcelona please send her a ridiculously large hug from me.
It's a comfort to know she has such a wonderful support network rallying behind her.
Walking down the street today, Kim popped into my head and I missed her all over again. Beijing is not the same.
Glad she is not moving, her location is nice, close the beach and fresh air. Next time she gets a visit please pass on a big hug and kiss from Sophie.
