The following is an email from Kim's lawyer sent to Mum:
[Dear Jan,
We went to see Kim today and she was very well and she looked well.
She said that she is now settling in. She is in a cell with only one other person. She gave her first yoga class yesterday. She said that she was going to try to form a dance group with 4 or 5 others.
She's working, but it is assembly line work and boring, but as Ascensión said to her, the most important thing is that she is working and this will help her get a good report from the Centre and also help with privileges.
Theoretically, from this month she is eligible for some weekend release. It won't happen this month because the committee will not meet until January. She knows that almost always the first leave is refused, so she's prepared for that.
She's looking forward to the visits next month from Kirsten and Janice. This Sunday I think her Polish friend will be visiting.
You and Mike can be relaxed knowing that she is OK. She is much more settled, and Ascensión said that she seemed much better today than last Friday. It's normal that it has taken some time to feel settled. She was in the same place for just over two years and this has been a big change.
Regards to you both
John]
